Sodium benzoate, also known as sodium benzoate, is an organic compound with the chemical formula C7H5NaO2. It is a white particle or crystalline powder, odorless or slightly aromatic, with a slightly sweet taste and a converging odor. Its relative molecular weight is 144.12, stable in air, and easily soluble in water. Its aqueous solution has a pH value of 8 and is soluble in ethanol.
